Home - Birding - 4/20/2022
Perkins Pier, Burlington, Vermont
On this day, instead of hitting a fat joint or celebrating everyone's favorite Austrian painter, I went birding.
Rock doves and whatnot. Feral though, because this is North America.
A lighthouse of sorts. Tints of blue. A lone seagull perches on the top.
I had to peer through a chain-link fence to get a picture of this great egret. While I was taking its picture, a guy walked by and asked lightheartedly about what I was doing, something about taking a picture of the landscape.
Excited, I told him I was actually taking pictures of this bird, and showed one to him, to which he said, "Is the bird the word? HA HAAAA! Gotta love Family Guy." And then he was off. I don't think I'm ever gonna forget this exchange. I don't think something like this could have happened any other day ofthe year.
And here's a killdeer walking along. These have to be my favorite coastal waders, very striking with the big orange eyes.
